“Luxembourgish Language(s)”: Presentation of a New Hybrid Exhibition by the ZLS at the Ministry of Culture
On October 15, 2026, Minister of Culture Eric Thill and the Center for the Luxembourgish Language (ZLS), together with Xavier Bettel, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, presented the new hybrid exhibition titled “Luxembourgish Language(s)” for the first time in Luxembourg.
In his speech, the Minister for Culture highlighted the inclusive nature of this exhibition: “This new hybrid exhibition is a kaleidoscope of the Luxembourgish language and multilingualism in Luxembourg. It makes our language accessible in all its richness and diversity and invites visitors to take a closer look at it. The exhibition encourages dialogue and is aimed both at people who have recently arrived in Luxembourg and at anyone wishing to gain a better understanding of our unique linguistic situation.”
The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade emphasised in his speech: “Multilingualism is one of Luxembourg’s many strengths, shaping our country, our society and our image around the world. In recent years, the Luxembourgish language has taken on an increasingly important role at political and administrative levels, and particularly in schools. In this regard, the Centre for the Luxembourgish Language’s hybrid exhibition offers an innovative opportunity to present our linguistic model to a wider audience, both in Luxembourg and abroad.”
The hybrid exhibition is available in five languages: all content is provided in Luxembourgish, German, French, English, and Portuguese. It consists of two parts: a website and a physical component comprising eleven elements that can be displayed as posters and/or roll-ups.
The website www.sproochen-expo.lu is free and accessible from anywhere in the world. It also allows people who are unable to travel to explore the exhibition.
