International Day in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust
On 27 January 2026, Mr. Thomas Reisen, the Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to the Russian Federation, took part in the event commemorating the International Day in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust at the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center, this year the program is devoted to places of tragedy and grief.
On January 27, 1945, the Auschwitz concentration camp, which had been operated by Nazi Germany during WWII, was liberated. On this day, commemorative events are held annually across the globe to pay tribute to the memory of the genocide victims.
Heads of diplomatic missions, religious leaders and public figures took part in a flower-laying ceremony in front of the Monument to the Heroes of the Resistance at the Nazi Concentration Camps and Ghettoes.
Luxembourg remains committed to preserving the memory of the Holocaust and its victims and continue to uphold the values of dignity, tolerance, and humanity.
