The commemoration of the victims of the Beslan tragedy
On 2 September 2024, the Consul of the Luxembourg Embassy in Moscow, Ms Charline Vandermuntert, took part in the laying of flowers at the foot of the memorial commemorating the victims of the Beslan tragedy.
20 years ago, on 1 September 2004, an armed group stormed a school in the town of Beslan. The hostage-taking, which lasted three days, resulted in the deaths of 334 people, including 186 children. It was the deadliest school attack in Russian history.
A flower-laying ceremony was held at the Beslan memorial in Moscow, attended by ambassadors and representatives of EU Member States and like-minded countries.
