Mr. Thomas Reisen, the Ambassador of Luxembourg, presented his credentials to Mr. Bakhtiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan
On 7 November 2024, Mr. Thomas Reisen, the first Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to the Republic of Uzbekistan (non-resident), presented his credentials to H.E. Bakhtiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, during a formal ceremony held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It was an opportunity to discuss the EU-Uzbekistan relations and, in this context, explored ways to expand the bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Luxembourg.
Previously Ambassador Reisen also met with Mr. Alisher Akhmedov, the Director of the Department for Europe and EU Institutions.
During his visit in Uzbekistan Ambassador Reisen took part at the European Economic Days. In the framework of the forum the grand opening of the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce in Uzbekistan took place with the participation of the ambassadors of the three countries. Mr. Reisen held a meeting as well with Mr. Denis Wan den Weghe, President of the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce, to discuss potential business opportunities and upcoming activities of the Chamber in Uzbekistan.
Furthermore, Ambassador Reisen discussed the ongoing political and economic situation in Uzbekistan with the Head of the EU Delegation and several EU colleagues.
