On Sunday, October 14th, Mr Sergei Lavrov, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jean Asselborn, during his working visit in Luxembourg. During their meeting at the « Hôtel Saint Maximin », the discussions focused on the excellent bilateral relations. Both Ministers also discussed the political and economic situation in Russia, the European Union as well as in the Middle East and Syria. 

After the meeting, Minister Lavrov participated in a joint dinner with the 27 Foreign Ministers of the European Union in the new Conference centre Kirchberg in the context of the Permanent Partnership Russia-European Union, held in Luxembourg.
