Visit of a delegation of the City of Moscow to Luxembourg, December from 12th to 13th, 2013
On 12-13 December 2013 a delegation of the Moscow Government headed by Minister and Head of the Department of Foreign and International Economic Relations, Mr. Sergey Cheremin, paid a visit to the City of Luxembourg represented by Mrs. Lydie Polfer, Mayor of Luxembourg City, and Mrs. Colette Mart, Deputy Mayor.
In the framework of this visit to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg the delegation was received as well by Mr. Etienne Schneider, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy. Another working meeting took place at the Ministry of Finance with the new Luxembourg Finance Minister, Mr. Pierre Gramegna. The series of working meetings was completed by a visit to the Luxembourg Central Bank, where an exchange of views took place with Mr. Gaston Reinesch, Governor of the Luxembourg Central Bank.
During a conference at Hotel Le Royal, Minister Cheremin and the CEO of Luxembourg for Finance, Mr. Nicolas Mackel, held an exposé about the increasing business flows between the financial centers of Moscow and Luxembourg.
Last but not least, in the framework of the visit, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce with a view to strengthen the economic and financial relations between Moscow and Luxembourg.
