Official visit of the Prime minister of Kazakhstan in Luxembourg, May 3rd, 2012.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr Karim Massimov, accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr.Yerbol Orynbaev, the Minister of  Transport and Communication, Mr. Askar Zhumagaliev, and the Minister of Finance, Mr.Bolat Zhamishev, paid an official visit to the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg on May 3rd, 2012.   

During his official visit, Mr Massimov had an audience with His Royal Highness the Grand-Duke and meetings with the Prime Minister, Mr Jean-Claude Juncker, and the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Mr. Laurent Mosar.

The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan was received at the Chamber of Commerce by the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Mr Etienne Schneider for the opening ceremony of the “Luxembourg-Kazakhstan Business Forum” in the presence of a large number of businessmen.

During the visit, 2 bilateral agreements and 4 Memorandum of Understanding have been signed by the Ministers. The Protocol to amend the convention for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and on capital, as well as an Agreement on cooperation between the Court of Auditors have been signed. Memorandum of Understanding between “Luxembourg for Finance” and the National Bank of Kazkahstan, Luxinnovation and Astana Innovation, and between both Chamber of Commerce has been signed.The 2 Minister of Economy signed a Memorandum of Understanding on economic, commercial and technical cooperation between both governments.
