“Knowledge Stream 2nd Anniversary” Event

Published Friday October 04 2013

The Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Mr. Pierre Ferring, attended the “Knowledge Stream 2nd Anniversary” Event at the Digital October Center in Moscow on 4 October 2013.

“Knowledge Stream” is an educational project which aims at facilitating the transfer of knowledge to a Russian audience by making use of modern telecommunications and streaming technologies. Experts, partners, students and friends gathered together at this occasion and the worldwide located lecturers passed their congratulations from every corner in the world through modern streaming videoconference technologies.

“Knowledge Stream” was launched as a long distance-learning project in autumn 2011 by the Digital October Center for New Technologies and Technological Entrepreneurship in cooperation with the Russian Telecommunications Company Rostelecom and with the support of the Russian Venture Company.

The Embassy of Luxembourg recalls in that context that the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is a prime location for e-business. The country hosts companies like Amazon.com, iTunes, eBay, PayPal, Rakuten, Skype and many other ICT companies that selected Luxembourg as a platform to access worldwide markets. RTL Group, today Europe’s leading broadcaster, and SES, the world’s preeminent satellite services provider, were born in Luxembourg and still operate from the country.

With its first class infrastructure, outstanding connectivity and ultra-high bandwidth,  high class data centers as well as telecommunications networks, Luxembourg is developing into a first-rated worldwide hub for the distribution of digital content, electronic data archiving, cloud services, and electronic payment services, thus the interest and attention shown by the Embassy of Luxembourg in Moscow to the “Knowledge Stream 2nd Anniversary”  Event at Digital October.
