Air service agreement between Luxembourg and Kazakhstan, November 20th, 2012

Published Friday December 07 2012

On November 20th, 2012, the Minister for Sustainable Development and Infrastructure of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg, Mr. Claude Wiseler and the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communication of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Azat Bekturov, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to further develop the air service activities between both countries.

The Memorandum of Understanding allows the airline companies of both countries to operate up to seven passenger or cargo flights per week between Luxembourg and Kazakhstan. Today, the Luxembourg cargo company “ Cargolux Airlines” operates two flights per week to Kazakhstan.

The agreement also foresees technical landings, which, taking into account the geographical situation of Kazakhstan may be of a beneficial advantage for the cargo flights between Luxembourg and Asia. The cooperation in the civil aviation will also be intensified and representatives of the Kazakh aeronautic authorities may participate in the programs and seminars organized by the Luxembourg Aviation Safety Agency.
